BASED ON A TRUE STORY....

Over the last week I met two weirdly powerful characters. Both women and true to their nature. And I thought I should let you know about them through #Digitaldabba . I have watched couple of them in various languages including Malayalam, Telugu, Marathi, Gujrati and French. And I guess I am incline more towards the foreign languages than our regional ones mostly because they take you to a different world of imagination. This one though was no less than a thriller despite the fact that there has been no murder, deceit, not even adultery to think of. Can’t believe it? Read it. You might just end up believing it. #LIFEGOALS – A debutante writer, Delphine Dayrieux whose debut novel had become a best seller had become an overnight star because of her book. The book was about the life and struggles of her mother, who was no more. Despite all the success, flowery life, Delphine was on the verge of depression of not being able to write anything after her debut novel. On one of her book signin...

Not so Queer....

I have been busy all last week working on a project #campduo conducted by #duolingo for people learning languages through it. I have been learning Spanish and French for a while now and recently added Finnish into my kitty. Not sure where I am going to end up but this journey of learning definitely seems exciting. As a part of the camp, I got to do a lot of things that I would not have done otherwise, like cooking. I did try out few interesting recipes from different cultures with a tinge of Indian flavours to them. Will talk about that sometime later maybe. Time for our #DigitalDabba now. Since I have been camping at #duo, I hopped, skipped and stumbled across French and Spanish people just to keep my spirits high for the camp. And I thought I should be sharing it with you. #LIFEGOALS - Rebecca and Marc who are about to get married soon decide to write a shared story of their roots to create a family tree around the last 25 years for which they travel to an old farmhouse that ...

MIRROR ME!!!!

Guess what!!! Up for some #mangalmaza I have been meeting many wonderful species of people off late.   “Are you out of your mind? What are you even talking? How and when did you get to meet so many people sitting all the day on your bed? On Instagram? On Netflix? Or on Zoom?” That would have been a typical response from Amma for the earlier statement I made. Not her fault. She will only say that because that’s what she sees me doing all day (almost). But, it remains that I have met wonderful species of people out there, each one totally different from another and yet too similar. Would you be interested in meeting them too? What are you waiting for? Read on.   #thethinktank – Someone who is full of ideas thanks to the lockdown and is actually contemplating different ideas to make a business proposal out of this or may be even think of becoming a consultant who gives away thoughts out of the huge thinktank. Not sure if any of these thoughts will actually see the light of the d...

NOT SO heroic...

Have you realised that we have spent almost half year in home #quarantine . Hopefully everyone around is safe. And on a mission to survive this lockdown till it lasts. Weird. For all those who think they are independent, this lockdown has shown that they are still dependant on their career or their workplace to make them feel complete and on the other hand those who were totally dependant on their family and friends have envisioned their new found independence during this time. Which makes it all the more clear that life is unfair at times but can never let you down totally. Last week I met some people on my #digitaldabba who had been through a fair share of unfairness of life. I am not pitying them. But just letting you know in case you come across them.     #LIFEGOALS – An author who is narrating the story of his first book, Krishna , the story of a happy go lucky guy from Vizag living with his single Mom and sister, pursuing his graduation, deeply in love with his senior S...

Lighting a Gas and #Gaslighting

It’s Ka Youbi .   Out for some serious fun?   Got to share this with you folks. Amidst the lockdown buzz and the #stayhome #staysafe motto, had to venture out with Amma to shop for something she had been wanting to get for a long time now. And me being me, was not the obliging type. But this time around, no excuses worked. I had to give up in front of her might. After all she is the “ LADY ” of the house. So we went out to the neighbourhood Kitchen Appliances store and exchanged our GasStove for a new one. Got a glass top in place of a steel one. I have been wondering ever since. Does it even make a food taste better on a glass top gas stove? What part of it adds flavour to the food being cooked – the fire, the burners or the glass top itself? Is it really worth putting in so much thought into a gas stove that is already home and is doing its job. When Amma asked me to make something to celebrate the homecoming of the gas stove, a thought crossed me. No!!! I am an excellent...

A MUSICAL MYSTICAL TALE

Welcome to yet another week full of surprises, thrill and of course sharing.   This week on my #DigitalDabba , I am going to take you to meet Sufi and Sujata from #AmazonPrime . A love story which is far beyond being called just a love story. One look at the name and you are guessing that it is going to be another Hindu – Muslim love story with intense love, hard core drama, seat gripping violence, music that sways you away into another world. What if I say it is a Malayalam movie on the block? Now go ahead and imagine the coconut trees, backwaters and Banana chips. Oops ! I guess I just went a little overboard. If you want to know what it is that makes Sufi and Sujata stand out of the rest all you have to do is go and watch it on Amazon Prime but you could as well give this piece a read before you do that.   #LIFEGOALS – Sufi’s life goal was to attain salvation and reach God with his devotion. Though he dwindles from the path for a while when he meets Sujata, I am sure he ...

Our digital obsessions

Howz the weekend treating you? Having fun???? I am sure every one of you is aware of the “ WRATH OF SATURN .” No it is not the next upcoming web series after # GOT (Game of Thrones) and no it is also not the latest game going viral after #PubG . To put it in a language we can understand better – “ SHANI KA PRAKOP ” or “ SHANI KE SAADE SAATI ” If you are wondering that I am about to talk about remedies for it, please. Let us leave it to the experts out there. I do not want to take away their bread and butter. Then what is it that I am going to write about? The #SHAITANSHANI . That’s what I would prefer calling it for now. Give this a read till the end and you will agree with me on this. Have you ever sneaked out money from your parent’s purse to buy the poster of your favourite film / sports personality? Have you ever stood in a line of 500 people to get the tickets of the movie of your favourite Hero? Have you ever screamed, threw bits of paper and acted hysterically when your favo...
