Our digital obsessions

Howz the weekend treating you? Having fun???? I am sure every one of you is aware of the “ WRATH OF SATURN .” No it is not the next upcoming web series after # GOT (Game of Thrones) and no it is also not the latest game going viral after #PubG . To put it in a language we can understand better – “ SHANI KA PRAKOP ” or “ SHANI KE SAADE SAATI ” If you are wondering that I am about to talk about remedies for it, please. Let us leave it to the experts out there. I do not want to take away their bread and butter. Then what is it that I am going to write about? The #SHAITANSHANI . That’s what I would prefer calling it for now. Give this a read till the end and you will agree with me on this. Have you ever sneaked out money from your parent’s purse to buy the poster of your favourite film / sports personality? Have you ever stood in a line of 500 people to get the tickets of the movie of your favourite Hero? Have you ever screamed, threw bits of paper and acted hysterically when your favo

Encounters with FOMO...

Human 1 (thinking aloud as it is allowed in WFH) : This report’s taking too long to download. How about check my insta in between. My post has 13 likes. Wow. OMG! Another issue on custodian death . This is ridiculous. Now I have to read everything about it and make a post of it. Or should I talk about the Elephants instead, might look like a nature enthusiast. Or should I keep retweeting the trending posts on SSR? Did someone just say MeToo? But that was over long back. If I post something about that now, people will think I am totally outdated.   Post by Human2 : Impact of gender discrimination on overall GDP of a nation across the world.   Human1  (thinking aloud agin) : Really. How come I can never think of such things. I guess I should get back to see if the latest report on the changing trends of education during lockdown is downloaded. Got to analyse it and send the status in a day.   If you could relate to any part of it, then you already know what I am talking about. For t

The story behind our WEEKdays

I was a little confused in the morning about what day it is today, when I tried finding out about it, I stumbled across this – ‘ Thunder’s Day ’ I wondered if it had to do with the upcoming monsoons, which is not same across the World. So, a little research and this is what I found. Sharing this # GuruGyan with all you koolkanyas out there. We are all aware that our days of the week are named after planets. Ideally, we should be having 7 and not 9? That is where the #Babylonians come in to picture. They were the ones who adopted that number because they observed 7 celestial bodies – the SUN, the MOON, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn. I wonder why they never considered Uranus, Neptune, Pluto or Earth for that matter.     #GuruGyan1   SUNDAY – The name takes its origin from a Latin phrase “ dies Solis ” meaning the Sun’s Day. Google Nani and Wiki Dadi say that God worked for 6 days and rested on the Seventh day which is allegedly the Sabbath day or Saturday as we better know

PEOPLE I MET LAST WEEK........

Hope the Monday blues are gone and you are up on your toes for another fantastic week ahead. We have all been hooked to the digital territory for a long while now (90 days is long….) And we get to meet so many people across digital platforms. Last week, I came across four brave, fiery, naive and sexy women on my #DigitalDabba (Amazon Prime, Netflix and Disney + Hotstar) I know. You have already started guessing their names. Yes. You are right. They reminded me of the fact that even before we were tagged as #WOMEN we are #HUMAN . If you ask me I would say each one of us is special in some way or the other not because we are women, but because we understand what being a woman is. It struck me then that I should share what I felt about these 4 women with all you.   #Disclaimer : It is not a review of the movie / show / character / screenplay. Nor is it a comparison of who was best. It is plainly my opinion about those women who made me sit up and watch all along without even a blink (a
