Our digital obsessions

Howz the weekend treating you? Having fun????

I am sure every one of you is aware of the “WRATH OF SATURN.” No it is not the next upcoming web series after #GOT (Game of Thrones) and no it is also not the latest game going viral after #PubG. To put it in a language we can understand better – “SHANI KA PRAKOP” or “SHANI KE SAADE SAATI” If you are wondering that I am about to talk about remedies for it, please. Let us leave it to the experts out there. I do not want to take away their bread and butter. Then what is it that I am going to write about? The #SHAITANSHANI. That’s what I would prefer calling it for now. Give this a read till the end and you will agree with me on this.

Have you ever sneaked out money from your parent’s purse to buy the poster of your favourite film / sports personality? Have you ever stood in a line of 500 people to get the tickets of the movie of your favourite Hero? Have you ever screamed, threw bits of paper and acted hysterically when your favourite hero enters the screen for the first time in a film? Have you ever had disagreements with your loved ones on who is the best actor? Have you ever been a part of the #idolworshipping ceremony of any of your favourite stars? Have you ever wondered why Mummy ke haath ke Alu ke paratha taste yummy all the time? If you have come this far, then great. I am assuming you are guessing it has to do with the nostalgia of being a 90’s kid if you have answered ‘YES’ to at least one of the questions above. But hey, that’s not just it.

We grew up #IdolWorshipping all our life. And now, we have graduated to #DigitalObsession. The recent outburst among people on the ban of TikTok is an example of it. Agreed, to a certain extent that the platform has proved to be a saviour for many talented artists across the globe with no restrictions on race, colour, gender or even talent. And with this ban, many of them are in a feeling that their talents may go unnoticed. Losing such a huge fan base is definitely a big hit. To think of it, these people worked hard every day to make their videos exciting and to grow their subscribers. So, much so that they never once contemplated a Plan B. And now, to do it all over again on some other platform could be a herculean task for most of them. My sympathies for all those who think they are doomed and are out of business now because of this #digitalcalamity. And my best wishes for those who don’t believe in fretting over such things and are instead thinking of an alternative plan.

7 TIPS TO MAKE JOURNALING A DAILY HABIT

Habits make us what we are. True that. Many of us are familiar and are probably experts at writing a Diary. In fact any one who has ever tried maintaining a diary at some point of our lives are all potential writers according to me. A diary is the only place where we can put out our thoughts without deliberation, where we can shout out loud about our inhibitions, where we can mention our fantasies without hesitation. I have too many lovely memories of writing a diary. My day would start and end with it. And one thing that would always find place in it on any given day was my love for Prem. Had to stop the habit as it turned out that people in my family got suspicious that I would someday elope with a guy named Salman Khan. I know, you must be having a laugh at it, but back then it was a little serious, not to forget that I was just 15 then. I never got back to that habit again. Yet, he remains my eternal heart throb till date.  Thanks to the advent of technology and our friendly so...

The story behind our WEEKdays

I was a little confused in the morning about what day it is today, when I tried finding out about it, I stumbled across this – ‘ Thunder’s Day ’ I wondered if it had to do with the upcoming monsoons, which is not same across the World. So, a little research and this is what I found. Sharing this # GuruGyan with all you koolkanyas out there. We are all aware that our days of the week are named after planets. Ideally, we should be having 7 and not 9? That is where the #Babylonians come in to picture. They were the ones who adopted that number because they observed 7 celestial bodies – the SUN, the MOON, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn. I wonder why they never considered Uranus, Neptune, Pluto or Earth for that matter.     #GuruGyan1   SUNDAY – The name takes its origin from a Latin phrase “ dies Solis ” meaning the Sun’s Day. Google Nani and Wiki Dadi say that God worked for 6 days and rested on the Seventh day which is allegedly the Sabbath day or Saturday as ...
